WASHINGTON - JAN 13/23 - SNS -- Production of flaxseed in 2022 totaled 4.30 million bushels, up 58% from the 2021 revised production, according to the USDA's final crop report for 2022.
Harvested area totaled 244,000 acres in 2022, down 10% from 2021. Harvested acreage in North Dakota, the largest flaxseed-producing State, was estimated at 162,000 acres, down 5% from 2021. The average United States yield for 2022, at 17.6 bushels per acre, was up 7.5 bushels from 2021.
