Seasonal Slowing In Beans

PANAMA - Dec 23/22 - SNS -- International dry edible bean and pulses markets were largely unchanged in seasonally quiet trading conditions during the past week, with most market participants focussed on the holiday season.

Some defensiveness was evident in pricing for some classes of beans in the United States because of expectations of strong regional demand in North America for colored beans.

As a result, the U.S. dry edible bean price index rose 0.7 points on the week to close at 100.5. By contrast, the global pulse price index slipped 0.1 points to close at 101.3 while the Canadian index inched up 0.2 points, closing at 102.8.
