Mustard Maintains Firm Tone

PANAMA - Dec 23/22 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets maintained their firm tone in limited market activity during the past week.

Attention is starting to focus on production prospects in 2023, with more companies pursuing Canadian growers with production contracts that include "act of god" clauses.

New crop bids are deeply discounted to spot markets. Though well off last season's highs, bids for all classes of mustard seed are solidly in decile nine territory, which means they have been higher less than 10% of the time since 1988 or 2007.
