Mustard Finds Support In Numbers
PANAMA - Dec 9/22 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets finished the week's trading on a generally strong note as markets responded to the reduction in the size of the Canadian harvest.
Statistics Canada pegged production at just under 161,800 metric tons (MT), down rom the September estimate of almost 177,000 MT, but still well above last year's 69,300 MT result.
Only 10,000 MT was carried in from the 2021 crop, with the result available supplies of all classes of mustard only advanced from 143,300 to 171,800 MT. well below the previous five year average of 203,000 MT.
