Peas Maintain Firm Tone

PANAMA - Nov 18/22 - SNS -- International field pea markets maintained their relatively firm tone through the past week, against relatively good export movement and reluctance among growers to sell some classes.

Markets were also helped by some speculation Canada's production estimates will be lowered in the that country's December 3 final crop report. Some processors assert seeded area was lower than initially estimated, though there is no third party support.

Though Australia does not directly compete in most field pea markets, with dun peas grown mostly for Asian destinations, values in that country remain firm over worries about yields and quality.
