Mustard Jumps In Value

PANAMA - Nov 18/22 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets were unusually firm during the past, reflecting grower resistance to selling at current values.

Significant gains were reported in bid ranges for oriental and brown mustard, with prices offered to growers for farmers dressed No 1 Canada product also advancing for yellow.

Oriental gained 19% on the week, jumping from CDN $1 to $1.20 per pound for No 1 grade product, while brown rose 14% to $1.15 and yellow advanced 4% to close the week with bids ranging up to $1.20 per pound.
