Mustard Maintains Firm Tone

PANAMA - Sep 9/22 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets finished the week;'s trading on a relatively firm note, helped by unusually low residual inventories in Canada from its 2021-22 marketing year.

Statistics Canada pegged those at 6,000 metric tons (MT), including 2,000 MT on farms and 4,000 in commercial positions.

Unlike canaryseed, deliveries by growers were not excessive despite continued high grower bid levels. Those have remained around CDN $1 per pound for both oriental and yellow since the harvest began, while brown has ranged between 90 and 95 cents per pound.
