Few Changes In Chickpeas

PANAMA - Aug 5/22 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were little changed during the past week, reflecting tight available supplies of kabuli type chickpeas and weak export demand for desi type.

The 2022 North American chickpea harvest is now underway, with moderate progress reported in Montana and the U.S. Pacific northwest, with the result the fous has now shifted to the 2022-23 marketing year.

Canadian markets have gained a better sense of residual stocks from its 2021-22 marketing campaign, with the season ending with commercial stocks of at least 24,800 metric tons (MT), down from moderately from 30,000 last year.
