WASHINGTON - Jul 12/22 - SNS -- Production of spring wheat other than durum is forecast at 503 million bushels, up 52% from 2021, according to the USDA's latest crop production estimates.
The United States yield is forecast at 47.0 bushels per acre, up 14.4 bushels from a year ago. Of the total production, 457 million bushels are Hard Red Spring wheat, up 54% from last year.
The area expected to be harvested for grain or seed is expected to total 10.7 million acres, unchanged from the Acreage report released on June 30, 2022, but 5% above 2021. A record high yield is forecast in North Dakota. Of the total production, 457 million bushels are Hard Red Spring wheat, up 54% from 2021.
