WASHINGTON - Jun 30/22 - SNS -- U.S. producers intend to harvest 51.5 million acres of all hay in 2022, up 2% from 2021, according to the USDA's seeded area estimates for 2022.
Alfalfa harvested acreage is expected to be 15.5 million acres, up 1% from 2021. All other hay (excluding alfalfa) is expected to be up 2% from last year, at 36.0 million acres.
For all hay harvested area, a record high is expected for Arizona, while Delaware and Nebraska are expected to have record lows.
