Quiet Tone In Birdseeds
PANAMA - Jun 24/22 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone in relatively trading activity during the past week.
Sunflower markets continue to be influenced by the global situation, with doubts over Ukraine's ability to export what it produces having a significant impact on the global supply situation for sunflower seed, oil and meal. This carries forward into asking prices for oil sunflower used as bird feed.
Markets are looking forward to the coming seeded area estimates for both Canada and the United States to get a sense of the impact seeding delays and cross commodity competition for land use has had on the amount of land used for birdseed ingredients.
