Old Crop Mustard Slides Toward New

PANAMA - Jun 10/22 - SNS -- Old crop mustard seed markets continue to show an easier tone now that seeding is virtually complete and markets are more confident yields will be at least average in the main producing areas.

Though the bid ranges to growers for oriental and brown mustard were little changed on the week in both old and new crop shipping positions, old crop yellow mustard bids to farmers lost 11% on the week.The upper end of the bid range dropped to CDN $1.61 per pound, well below its record igh of $2.01 set in April.

Both oriental and brown have dropped below their record highs, all of which were set during the current marketing year.
