India's Lentil Imports Manage Soft Performance

PANAMA - Jun 7/22 - SNS -- Imports of lentils for India were well down, plunging compared to the previous month in March, official trade data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics reveals.

Total imports in the month reached 19,454 metric tons (MT), down 39% from the previous month's total of 31,795. So far imports have amounted to 173,631 MT, up from 118,762 during the previous calendar year.

The latest trade statistics revealed Canada was top export origin, supplying 14,904 MT. Australia was the second most important supplier shipping 3,781 MT, followed by United States at 644 MT.
