India's Mung Bean Imports Start On Strong Tone

PANAMA - Jun 7/22 - SNS -- Imports of mung beans by India were up sharply, leaping compared to the previous month in March, official trade data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics shows.

Imports during the month reached 49,374 metric tons (MT), up from 28,036 MT the previous month. This boosted imports so far during the calendar year to 138,451, up 25% last year.

Current movement data revealed Myanmar was number one supplier, supplying 14,245 MT for the month. Kenya was the second most important supplier shipping 13,911 MT, followed by Tanzania at 12,787 MT.
