Chickpea Exports From Russia Manage Soft Month

PANAMA - May 3/22 - SNS -- Started this calendar year recordeda weaker performance, with chickpea exports from Russia fell relative to the previous month in January, according to available statistics from Federal Customs Service of Russia.

The latest data showed export sales for the month totalled 21,445 metric tons (MT), down 30% from 30,481 the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, shipments were up 351% from 4,758 MT.

In the month, Pakistan was the biggest buyer, receiving 7,882 MT. Kyrgyzstan was the second most important importer buying 3,229 MT, followed by Egypt at 1,711 MT.
