WASHINGTON - Mar 31/22 - SNS -- Peanut growers intend to plant 1.57 million acres in 2022, down 1 percent from 2021, according to the USDA's seeding intentions estimates.
In Georgia, the largest peanut-producing State, expected planted area is down 3 percent from 2021. Increases in planted area are expected in Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
