Durum Plantings Rising 17%

WASHINGTON - Mar 31/22 - SNS -- Area seeded to Durum wheat for 2022 is estimated at 1.92 million acres, up 17 percent from 2021, according to the USDA's seeding intentions estimates.

Idaho is expecting a record low Durum wheat acreage, and is the only estimating State expecting a decrease from last year. Heading of Durum wheat in Arizona was 44 percent complete by March 27.
