WASHINGTON - Mar 31/22 - SNS -- Growers intend to plant 11.2 million acres of spring wheat other than durum down 2 percent from 2021, according to the USDA's seeding intentions estimates.
Of this total, about 10.5 million acres are Hard Red Spring wheat. Planted area in North Dakota, the largest spring wheat-producing State, is estimated at 5.20 million acres, down 5 percent from last year.
