Lentil Imports By Turkey Continue Weak Tendency

PANAMA - Mar 30/22 - SNS -- Turkey's imports of lentils during December posted significant declines, slumping compared to the previous month, according to data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Total imports in the month reached 76,823 metric tons (MT), down 24% from the previous month's total of 101,053. So far imports have totalled 536,702 MT, down from 592,203 during the previous calendar year.

Canada was the largest origin, supplying 59,990 MT. Russia was the second most important export origin selling 9,349 MT, followed by Germany at 4,457 MT.
