Lentils Continue To Advance

PANAMA - Mar 18/22 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished the week on a firm note in anticipation of improved export movement outside North America through the balance of the marketing year and possible into the post harvest shipping period.

The willingness of growers to sell may also be a factor, with competition from other crops affecting the price expectations of farmers in both spot and new crop shipping positions.

Green lentils are showing more strength than red as stocks available from farmers remain behind the short term needs of processors and exporters. Reds showed some strength during the week, with some exporters optimistic they will see improved demand over the short to medium term.
