Red Lentils Search For Demand Boost
PANAMA - Jan 21/22 - SNS -- Spreads between red and green lentils remained significant during the past week, reflecting differences in supply versus demand.
However, while values for green lentils eased in the face of weak North American demand and competition for business in other parts of the world, reds were mostly unchanged.
Markets are paying relatively close attention to rabi seeding progress for lentils in India. Based on seeding progress through January 21, lentil area has the potential to reach 1.708 million hectares, up from 1.654 million last year.
