Mustard Continues Wild Ride

PANAMA - Jan 14/22 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets continued their wild ride through the past week with solid price advances recorded for both yellow and brown.

Markets were influenced by confirmation production in the United States also collapsed from the previous year, with the USDA pegging the harvest at 19,880 metric tons (MT), down from 37,090 in 2020.

Combined production of all classes of mustard seed in North America now stands at 69,835 MT, well below the 135,890 produced the previous year and the previous five year average of roughly 187,000 MT.
