WASHINGTON - Jan 12/22 - SNS --Last year's field pea harvest in the United States sank 60% from the previous year to 8.55 million cwt (100 pounds) or 390,080 metric tons (MT), according to the final crop report for 2021.
Planted area, at 977,000 acres, down 2% from 2020. Harvested area at 834,000 acres, was down 14% from the previous year.
The average United States yield for dry edible peas for the 2021 season is 1,025 pounds per acre, down 1,205 pounds from 2020.
