WASHINGTON - Jan 12/22 - SNS --This year's U.S. lentil harvest ended up at 3.33 million cwt (100 pounds) or 151,000 metric tons (MT), down 55% from 2020, according to the USDA's final crop report for 2021.
Planted area, at 708,000 acres, was up 35% from last year, while harvested acreage, at 549,000 acres, was up 8% from 2020. The average yield was expected to be 606 pounds per acre, down 845 pounds from last year.
