WASHINGTON - Jan 12/22 - SNS -- Peanut production was estimated at 6.39 billion pounds, up 4% from 2020, according to the USDA's final crop report for 2021.
Planted area was estimated at 1.59 million acres, down 5% from 2020. Harvested area was estimated at 1.55 million acres, down 4% from 2020. The average yield was estimated at 4,135 pounds per acre, up 322 pounds from 2020.
Record high yields were estimated in Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Virginia.
