Mixed Opening For Peas
PANAMA - Jan 7/22 - SNS -- Field pea markets opened trading in the 2022 calendar year on a mixed note, with yellow peas continuing to gain ground on good demand while greens were unchanged in lackluster interest.
Canadian processors and exporters maintained their focus on North American domestic demand, though it appears the short term needs of canners and packagers are well covered.
Overall exports from Canada during the first four months of its 2021-22 marketing campaign are down sharply from last season, reflecting a massive decline in movement to China.
