Mixed Mood In Chickpeas

PANAMA - Dec 10/21 - SNS -- Global chickpea markets ended the week mixed in limited trading activity.

Kabuli chickpea markets were largely unchanged, reflecting a fundamental shortage of product in North America and the fact most users have covered their short term needs.

Not surprisingly, U.S. exports were down sharply between August and October, sinking 42% from almost 29,000 to nearly 17,000 metric tons (MT). This represents 32% of projected exports for the 2021-22 marketing year, compared to 20% at the same time last year.
