PANAMA - Nov 12/21 - SNS -- North American field peas markets maintained their firm tone through the past week despite solid competition for available export demand.
Movement to North American domestic consumers appears to be on the upswing, reflecting a fundamental shortage of product in the United States. This is supporting values for both Canadian and U.S. origin peas,
Yellow peas are so far benefitting more, with farmers in Canada have seen an average U.S. $7.33 per metric ton (MT) premium over green since the start of the marketing year. During the previous five seasons, green peas held an average premium of $47.22 MT over yellow.
