Kabulis Lead Chickpeas

PANAMA - Oct 29/21 - SNS -- International kabuli chickpea markets were firmer during the past week against tightening global inventories while desi type continued to ease.

Australia's harvest is now underway, but exporters are reporting only moderate demand from the Indian subcontinent as well as ongoing problems obtaining ocean freight.

This is putting pressure on export markets for that class. By contrast, kabuli chickpeas are supported by limited supplies in net exporting countries and expectations of increased demand from North America.
