WASHINGTON - Oct 12/21 - SNS -- Pecan production is forecast at 258 million pounds (utilized, in-shell basis), down 16% from 2020, according to the latest USDA production estimates for 2021.
Improved varieties are expected to produce 248 million pounds or 96% of the total. The native and seedling varieties are expected to produce 10.3 million pounds, making up the remaining 4% of production.
