Chickpea Exports From Australia Continue Firm Trend
PANAMA - Oct 5/21 - SNS -- Australia's export shipments of chickpeas in August jumped compared to the previous month, according to data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.
Total shipments during the month reached 57,550 metric tons (MT), up 56% from the previous month's total of 36,949. So far shipments have amounted to 766,775 MT, up from 283,420 in the same period the previous marketing year.
Pakistan was the biggest consumer, receiving 33,357 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important destination buying 9,620 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 7,376 MT.
