Mixed Performance in Birdseeds
PANAMA - Oct 1/21 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets posted a mixed performance during the past week, likely reflecting end user resistance to current prices.
While white proso millet and confection sunflower were unchanged, oil type sunflower advanced and canaryseed eased in both grower and inter-dealer markets.
Interestingly, while old crop sunflower inventories are up significantly over last year, prices are holding steady to firmer because of worries about this year's yields and competitive pressure from canola and other oilseeds.
