Lentil Attention Turning to Selling

PANAMA - Sep 19/21 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on an easier note as the North American harvest wrapped up and attention shifted from fear over yields to finding markets for what was grown.

Canada's harvest was pegged at 1.802 million metric tons (MT) in the latest forecast from Statistics Canada, down from 2.868 million last year.

There remains some concern the final, survey based estimate will come in at a lower level. The federal yield estimate for Saskatchewan was 948 pounds per seeded acre, while the provincial agriculture department thinks they will be closer 817 pounds.
