Canada's Lentil Exports Continue Weak Tone

PANAMA - Aug 5/21 - SNS -- So far during the current marketing year extended their softer trend, with lentil exports from Canada dropped relative to the previous month in June, judging from data from Statistics Canada.

Shipments reached 196,655 metric tons (MT) in the month, down 7% from the 211,729 MT shipped the previous month. Export sales so far total 2,181,730 MT, compared to 2,435,195 in the same period the last marketing year.

India was the largest buyer for the month, buying 80,635 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important consumer taking 35,565 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 16,424 MT.
