Chickpea Exports From Australia Sustain Strong Tone
PANAMA - Aug 5/21 - SNS -- So far during this marketing year continued a stronger trend, with chickpea shipments from Australia showed modest gains, advancing compared to the previous month in June, judging from trade statistics from Australia Bureau of Statistics.
Exports totalled 63,450 metric tons (MT) during the month, up 19% from the 53,477 MT exported the previous month. Shipments so far total 683,411 MT, versus 256,880 in the same period the last marketing year.
The number one consumer throughout the month was Pakistan, receiving 45,997 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important consumer receiving 7,700 MT, followed by Nepal at 4,288 MT.
