U.S. Bean Fields Under Stress

WASHINGTON - Jul 13/21 - SNS -- Dry edible bean fields in the United States remain under considerable stress because of hot and dry conditions, judging from state level reports from the USDA.

Roughly 34% of fields are rated in good or excellent condition, compared to 39% fair, and 27% in very poor or poor condition.

Many states report plants are starting to bloom, with growers hoping for temperature relief during that period to prevent aborted flowers and rains to help with seed fill
