Durum Output Sinks 46%

WASHINGTON - Jul 12/21 - SNS -- Durum wheat production in the United States is forecast at 37.2 million bushels, down 46% from 2020, according to the USDA.

Based on July 1 conditions, yields are expected to average 25.8 bushels per harvested acre, down 15.6 bushels from 2020.

Area expected to be harvested for grain or seed totals 1.44 million acres, unchanged from the Acreage report released on June 30, 2021, but down 13% from 2020.
