Canada's Red Lentil Exports Maintain Strong Performance
PANAMA - Jun 12/21 - SNS -- So far during the current marketing year are maintaining their stronger performance, with red lentil shipments for Canada advanced relative to the previous month in April, judging from data from Statistics Canada.
Shipments for the month reached 123,431 metric tons (MT), up from 109,349 MT the previous month. This lifted export sales so far during the marketing year to 1,086,569, up 1% last year.
Recent trade statistics revealed Turkey was number one importer, receiving 41,690 MT in the month. India was the second most important consumer taking 37,470 MT, followed by Bangladesh at 11,125 MT.
