Lentils Regain Footing

PANAMA - May 1/21 - SNS -- International lentil markets ended the week's trading on a firmer note partly in reaction to the Canadian seeding intentions estimates.

Though area is little changed from last year, ideas there would be a moderate increase were influenced by the fact growers in the United States boosted land in the crop from 528,000 to 611,000 acres. By contrast, farmers in Canada intend to trim plantings from 4.233 to 4.218 million.

Average yields in Canada would see production drop from 2.868 to 2.58
