Relaxed Mood in Lentils

PANAMA - Apr 16/21 - SNS -- North American lentil markets finished the week's trading on a more relaxed note because of confidence in large parts of the growing area in Canada that crops will be sown into moisture.

Weather concerns are a hallmark of the growing season and has been stressed, even if western Canada enters a dry cycle, timely rains will help keep yields around average. However, this can contribute to increased short term volatility in markets.

The next key event for markets will be Canada's April 27 seeding intentions report. It is important not to view it as anything more than an indication of what could be planted in western Canada,
