Desi Chickpea Demand Stronger Than Expected
PANAMA - Apr 16/21 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were little changed in seasonally quiet trading conditions, with Ramadan influencing short term buying interest in some destinations.
Export movement from Australia during the first third of that country's 2020-21 marketing campaign is showing excellent progress, with shipments more than double the same period the previous season at almost 440,000 metric tons (MT).
This is reflected in relative strength in bids to farmers in the country, with bids finishing the week in decile seven territory in both spot and new crop shipping positions.
