Birdseeds Maintain Momentum
PANAMA - Apr 16/21 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone through the past week, with sunflower markets posting solid week over week advances.
Canadian canaryseed markets were mostly unchanged on the week, while white proso millet was firmer as the spread between high and low bids to farmers narrowed in the face of tight supplies and worries about seeded area in parts of the growing area.
Discussing markets, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association (NSA) noted spot markets for oil type sunflower managed solid advances while "new crop sunflower prices remained higher than a year ago at this same time with oil crushers still offering Act of God and cash contracts.
