Canada's Red Lentil Exports Open On Strong Note

PANAMA - Apr 7/21 - SNS -- Shipments of red lentils from Canada jumped versus the previous month in February, trade data from Statistics Canada reports.

Exports during the month reached 66,585 metric tons (MT), up from 50,477 MT the previous month. This increased export sales so far during the marketing year to 853,789, up 11% last year.

The most recent trade data showed Turkey was biggest consumer, taking 28,304 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important destination buying 22,300 MT, followed by Pakistan at 4,124 MT.
