Lentil Imports By Turkey Open On Soft Note

PANAMA - Apr 7/21 - SNS -- Started this calendar year on a weaker tendency, with lentil imports by Turkey sank relative to the previous month in January, according to available statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Imports for the opening month of the calendar year totalled 40,995 metric tons (MT), down 35% from 62,828 MT the previous month. The data showed imports was down 10% from the 45,361 MT recorded in the same month last year.

Current movement statistics revealed Canada was most important exporter, supplying 34,439 MT for the month. United States was the second most important shipper shipping 3,235 MT, followed by Kazakhstan at 1,730 MT.
