Lentil Exports From Turkey Start With Weak Tendency

PANAMA - Apr 7/21 - SNS -- Are beginning the current calendar year on a softer tendency, with lentil movement from Turkey sank relative to the previous month in January, judging from data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

The updated statistics showed export sales for the month totalled 21,187 metric tons (MT), down 24% from 28,058 the previous month. Versus the same month last year, exports are down 38% from 34,364 MT.

Iraq was the top destination during the month, receiving 5,567 MT. Syria was the second most important importer buying 2,575 MT, followed by Egypt at 1,492 MT.
