Russia's Sunflower Seed Exports Open On Soft Note

PANAMA - Mar 31/21 - SNS -- Are beginning this calendar year on a softer tendency, with sunflower seed export shipments from Russia fell sharply relative to the previous month in January, judging from the most recent statistics from Federal Customs Service of Russia.

Export sales during the opening month of the calendar year totalled 5,844 metric tons (MT), down 95% from 108,652 MT the previous month. The statistics showed exports is down 96% from the 157,455 MT reported during the same month last year.

China was the largest importer during the month, receiving 4,684 MT. Belarus was the second most important consumer buying 695 MT, followed by Kazakhstan at 180 MT.
