PANAMA - Mar 5/21 - SNS -- Started the current marketing year amanagedan easier month, with field pea export shipments for Canada were slightly lower, falling relative to the previous month in January, according to statistics from Statistics Canada.
The most recent data showed export sales for the month totalled 278,686 metric tons (MT), down 15% from 327,429 the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, shipments were up 11% from 1,936,027 MT.
The most recent trade data reported China was biggest consumer, taking 216,036 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important importer taking 31,717 MT, followed by United States at 4,887 MT.
