PANAMA - Mar 5/21 - SNS -- Started this marketing year recordeda weaker month, with yellow pea movement from Canada eased relative to the previous month in January, judging from official statistics from Statistics Canada.
Export sales for the first month of the marketing year totalled 223,732 metric tons (MT), down 17% from 270,147 MT the previous month. The data showed movement was up 14% from the 1,604,924 MT reported in the same month last year.
Recent movement data revealed China was largest destination, taking 186,902 MT for the month. Bangladesh was the second most important buyer taking 31,717 MT, followed by Indonesia at 1,098 MT.
