PANAMA - Mar 4/21 - SNS -- Movement of chickpeas from Australia made major gains, leaping compared to the previous month in January, the latest data from Australia Bureau of Statistics reveals.
Shipments during the opening month of the marketing year totalled 186,798 metric tons (MT), up 74% from 107,613 MT the previous month. The statistics showed shipments is up 136% from the 150,963 MT recorded during the same month last year.
Current trade statistics revealed Bangladesh was top importer, taking 137,045 MT during the month. Pakistan was the second most important importer buying 33,480 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 7,359 MT.
