Russia's Sunflower Seed Exports Reveal Weak Month

PANAMA - Mar 2/21 - SNS -- Russia's export shipments of sunflower seeds in December fell compared to the previous month, judging from data from Federal Customs Service of Russia.

Movement reached 108,450 metric tons (MT) during the month, down 41% from the 184,318 MT shipped the previous month. Exports so far total 1,375,649 MT, compared to 707,449 during the previous calendar year.

Turkey was the biggest importer, buying 38,260 MT. Bulgaria was the second most important destination receiving 33,246 MT, followed by China at 21,929 MT.
